Our story

Atelier Auneau designs and creates bespoke interiors: kitchens, dressing rooms, bathrooms, living spaces and furniture, combining traditional cabinetmaking expertise with a selection of high-quality Italian furniture, since 1978.

A family story built on passion and craftsmanship in Monteton, Lot-et-Garonne, since 1978.It all began with Jean-Paul Auneau, a skilled cabinetmaker driven by a love of beautiful design and fine craftsmanship. In 2011, his son Julien Auneau took over the family business, bringing fresh energy to the workshop. His brother Xavier Auneau joined him in 2017.United by their shared passion for wood and design, the two brothers continued to develop the business, opening a new cabinetmaking workshop in 2022, opposite their home village. From initial design to final installation, we bring our expertise, attention to detail and precision to every project.Atelier Auneau carries on a family legacy: one of craftsmanship, shared values and a deep love of wood.

Our expertise

Bringing architecture, creativity and materials together.

At Atelier Auneau, a team of interior designers and cabinetmakers designs and crafts unique interiors, where every detail is thoughtfully considered and built to last: kitchens, bookcases, dressing rooms, bathrooms and tables.

Tell us about your project

Atelier Auneau collaborates with architects, project managers and interior design professionals. We bring architectural visions to life through high-quality materials, carefully considered proportions and creations crafted with meticulous attention to every detail.

A unique kitchen, designed around your everyday life. We design and craft bespoke kitchens, tailored to the specific requirements of each space and our clients’ individual needs and preferences. From the choice of materials to layout, storage, finishes and details, every kitchen is crafted with precision in our workshop.

Bookcases, dressing rooms, built-in furniture, bathrooms, storage solutions and complete interior fit-outs: we design tailored solutions to optimise and enhance every space. By listening closely to our clients, we combine functionality, aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship.

Drawing on a family tradition of craftsmanship passed down since 1978, we work with wood and other materials with care, precision and passion. In our workshop, we craft bespoke pieces and unique creations, combining traditional cabinetmaking techniques with a contemporary approach to design.

Because the quality of a finished project also depends on precise and meticulous installation, our teams ensure every project is installed and supervised with the utmost care. Working closely with architects, craftspeople and other professionals, we oversee each stage of the process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that the plans and design choices agreed upon with our clients are faithfully respected.

APEZA is a collection of bespoke tables, designed and crafted in our workshop. Each piece reflects exceptional craftsmanship, where the natural beauty of wood meets contemporary lines. Unique tables, designed to stand the test of time and transcend trends with elegance.

Between Scenic Views and Authenticity, a Kitchen Overlooking Monteton

Nestled among plum orchards, our showroom offers exceptional views of the village of Monteton. In 2026, we unveiled a new kitchen, designed as a true space for creativity and innovation. Our ambition was to bring together the latest technologies in contemporary kitchen design while preserving a warm and natural atmosphere.Quartzite, a natural stone with unique tones and textures, complements the wooden fronts, creating a harmonious balance of character, elegance and authenticity. This project also serves as a space for experimentation for our team: a place where we test, imagine and rethink the ways we will live tomorrow.

Une cuisine entre tradition et modernité

In Lot-et-Garonne, Marion and Pierre transformed their family's former stable into a home full of character. For their kitchen, they wanted to create a subtle dialogue between the charm of the original building and a distinctly modern aesthetic. The aged, charred wood brings warmth and authenticity, while the stainless steel island adds a contemporary, professional touch. Here, materials take centre stage: clean lines, bold textures and a deliberately minimalist balance.Passionate about cooking, Pierre placed particular importance on the quality and technology of the appliances. A steam oven, a hob with integrated extraction and a teppanyaki grill now allow him to cook with precision and freedom.Designed as a true space for culinary creativity, this kitchen combines performance, functionality and elegance.Every detail was carefully considered to reflect Marion and Pierre's wishes while preserving the soul of this former stable.

The Harmony of a Gironde Barn and a Modern Kitchen

After leaving the Netherlands, Maria and Niels chose to settle in the South of Gironde, in the heart of a former barn they wanted to transform into a contemporary home. Their aim was to preserve the warm presence of wood — a memory of the building’s past — while creating a refined and distinctly modern interior. With its impressive ceiling height, the kitchen had to find its place without disrupting the volumes of the house. The furniture therefore defines the lines and structures the space, creating a natural dialogue between architecture and interior fit-out.Designed in a minimalist and elegant spirit, the kitchen allows materials and light to take centre stage. Maria and Niels also wanted to incorporate cutting-edge equipment: a tap delivering instant boiling, sparkling and chilled filtered water, a handleless dishwasher with push-to-open function, and a hob with integrated extraction built into the island.

A Colourful Utility Room for a Bordeaux Home

After placing their trust in us for the design of their kitchen in the heart of Bordeaux, Rose and Gaspard naturally turned to Atelier Auneau once again to create their new utility room. The objective was clear: to design a space that was both functional, pleasant and full of colour, while blending harmoniously with the continuation of their kitchen. We designed a bespoke layout with soft green fronts, bringing freshness and softness to this everyday space. To give it an even more personal touch, delicate leather handles adorn the cabinetry, adding that small detail that makes all the difference.Every storage solution was carefully considered to make daily life easier and optimise the space. A utility room that proves a practical space can also be beautiful, colourful and truly personal.

A Minimalist Bookcase to Define Spaces Without Dividing Them

When they moved to Bergerac, Martine and Jean undertook the renovation of a former barn, envisioned with their architect as an open, light-filled home.Passionate about reading, they wanted to define the living room without dividing the space, so as to preserve the views and connections between the different areas of the house. We designed a bespoke bookcase made up of large solid wood shelves, naturally positioned between the concrete structural elements of the house. A fine and discreet metal framework, created in collaboration with a local metalworker, supports the whole without ever dominating the space. The approach was intentionally minimalist: to create a setting rather than a statement piece. Here, it is the books — their colours and their stories — that take centre stage.A bookcase conceived as a light architectural feature, structuring the space while allowing light to flow freely.
